About Furbish

Some people see life through rose-colored glasses; Jamie Meares sees it through a kaleidoscope.
Featured in Elle Décor, House Beautiful and Lonny magazine as a master of the mix, Meares is an
inveterate dabbler — her go-to answer is “I’ll try anything once.” It’s her eccentric take on tradition that makes Meares a sought-after trendsetter, designer, and blogger. In 2009, as an extension of her popular lifestyle blog I Suwannee, Meares opened Furbish Studio, a charming light-filled shop in Raleigh, North Carolina. With inventory reflecting her penchant for daring colors, splashy patterns, and quirky pieces that provoke conversation, Furbish Studio quickly gained acclaim in the media and throughout the blogosphere. At the insistence of design-lovers worldwide, Furbish Studio expanded to include online shopping and began creating an eponymous line of home accessories. In 2011, Furbish unveiled its new 3,000 square foot flagship retail space and design studio in a turn-of-the -century downtown Raleigh warehouse and soon became a mecca for design-lovers and trendsetters across the country.

Open to the public, Furbish offers a curated collection of fabulous finds for the home, including unique pieces of furniture, both old and new, inspired lighting, and modern artwork. The store is stocked with textiles in vibrant patterns and bold combinations, including bedding, pillows, rugs and designer fabrics. Coveted accessories and one-of-a-kind treasures inspire visitors to decorate their homes with easygoing flair.

Customers can expect inspiring and achievable vignettes in the store, lots of traditional fundamentals given a quirky spin with mixed patterns, unexpected colors, vintage textiles, and global accents.  An eclectic range of accessories for the home, of-the-moment lighting, gifts and jewelry fill the brightly lit shop, along with eclectic tabletop items, lust-worthy coffee table books and special selections from Jonathan Adler, Roberta Freymann, Dana Gibson, JohnRobshaw, Tulu Textiles and Dash & Albert.

Our turn-key interior design service offers clients an opportunity to incorporate Furbish’s signature bright bold eclectic style into their lives.  Our custom furniture line, carefully handcrafted in North Carolina is showcased in the store and online, and ordering is easy with the help of our knowledgeable staff.
