In this<br>regard, a graduate of business not only need to have a theoretical understanding, but also need to have creative<br>thinking, communication and decision-making skills based on multidisciplinary knowledge.<br>Business Simulation is a subject which is integrated with courses-courses 1st semester to semester 5. The<br>objective of this course was organized to equip students with specific skills. This study aims to develop a<br>business simulation lab module and to know the students' perceptions of lab module that was developed in<br>Business Administration Study Program Politeknik NSC Surabaya as many as 23 students participate in<br>business simulations and answered a questionnaire at the end of the lecture is accompanied by a response in<br>the form of advice in the interests of further development. This type of research in the form of research and<br>development of data analysis techniques were used to analyze quantitative data in the form of a questionnaire<br>assessment score by calculating the average response.<br>Development results based on eligibility criteria that additional cases have a percentage value of 83% said to<br>be valid or fit for use in learning activities. Development with good business simulation module meets the<br>expectations of students to develop managerial skills (such as the ability of others, potential, and leadership)<br>with a mean of 4.15. In line with this, the finance<br>industry has the potential to carve out growth in profitability. Therefore, multi-finance companies are required<br>to provide services to consumers or the public quickly, precisely and accurately. One of the service is by<br>following the development of the digitalization era by applying electronic filing. This research used descriptive<br>qualitative research. Qualitative research aims to obtain an overview of a matter according to the human<br>perspective studied. This research applied interview data collection and documentation methods. Informants<br>in this research were archival officers in multi-finance companies. The results of the research indicated that<br>the application of electronic filing procedures to multi-finance companies used automation systems or<br>computerized systems, called Electric Filing System (e-filing). Data analysis was obtained using<br>multicollinearity test, normality test, heteroscedasticity test, multiple linear regression test and hypothesis test.<br>The results showed that (1) office layout has a positive and significant effect on the performance of company<br>employees in Surabaya with a significance value of 0.006 (&lt;0.05), and (2) leadership control has a positive and<br>significant effect on employee performance with a significance value of 0.004 (&lt;0,05). The method used in this research is qualitative and the problem-solving is deductively. A<br>qualitative approach is a problem approach with an intangible description of numbers. Deductive problem<br>solving is by studying topics in general related to the discussion taken from interviews and library research then<br>drawn conclusions in particular. The results of the discussion explain that (1) the requirements of being a<br>secretary are quite diverse and a secretary must have many excellences, the requirement to be a secretary are: the<br>requirements of knowledge, skill requirements, personality requirements. (2) the role of the secretary is quite<br>diverse, such as: Secretary must be able to save energy. The secretary must be able to solve the problem, the<br>secretary in the face of the bundle of letters, the secretary should be able to use the time, the secretary must be<br>able to organize the workspece, the secretary must be able to develop himself. (3) factors that affect work<br>efficiency include: discipline, responsibility, and ethics in work. (4) the secretary should be able to perform its<br>role as well and as efficiently as possible to improve the company's image and company's quality</p> Copyright (c) 2018 Jurnal Of Applied Management and Administration Science https://nscpolteksby.ac.id/ejournal/index.php/jamas/article/view/82 Thu, 08 Nov 2018 00:00:00 +0000 Maslow's Motivation Model-Eight Hierarchy of Needs at Hospitality Company in Surabaya: Preliminary Study https://nscpolteksby.ac.id/ejournal/index.php/jamas/article/view/83 <p>The aims of this research are to describe Maslow's eight motivational models in hospitality company in<br>Surabaya, to analyze the validity and reliability of Maslow's instrument of measuring motivation in eight<br>hierarchies, to find indicators that can form the motivation variable, to find out whether there are differences<br>in Maslow's motivational model based on gender, employee status, and employee marital status, and to know<br>the correlation between physiological needs, safety needs, love and belonging needs, esteem needs, cognitive<br>needs, aesthetic needs, self-actualization and self-transcendence needs. Explanatory with descriptive and<br>quantitative analysis were used. Quantitative analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling<br>(SEM) AMOS and SPSS program version 19. Respondents from this research were all employees who work<br>in 61 hospitality companies where NSC Polytechnic students are employed. The sampling technique used was<br>simple random sampling, with a total sample of 160 respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires.<br>The returned questionnaires were 100% but only 85% (136 respondents) could be further analyzed. The result<br>of the research shows that employee motivation in hospitality company in Surabaya is high, where the mean<br>of motivation for aesthetic needs is the highest; Maslow's motivational measurement instrument of eight needs<br>hierarchies using 38 statement items satisfies the validity and reliability of the perfect constructs and met the<br>unidimensional criteria; Maslow's motivational model meets the requirements of goodness of fit, where<br>physiological needs, safety needs, love and belonging needs, esteem needs, cognitive needs, aesthetic needs,<br>self-actualization, and self-transcendence needs are able to form Maslow’s motivational model; There is no<br>difference in Maslow's motivational model based on gender and employee marriage status, but there is a<br>difference in Maslow's motivational model based on employee status, where permanent employees have higher<br>motivation than contract employees; There is correlation between physiological needs, safety needs, love and<br>belonging needs, esteem needs, cognitive needs, aesthetic needs, self-actualization and self-transcendence<br>needs.</p> Copyright (c) 2018 Jurnal Of Applied Management and Administration Science https://nscpolteksby.ac.id/ejournal/index.php/jamas/article/view/83 Thu, 08 Nov 2018 00:00:00 +0000
